Paint Penticton Blue Contest - March 16-21st
We entered our school into a contest on the Downtown Penticton Facebook page. The contest relied on getting as many "Likes" on our Photo -- and we WON! The children worked hard on the sign and are proud of it! We have been hearing a lot of kids chanting at school "GO VEE'S GO". Its so important for them to learn how to support at team! Thank you to everyone who voted for your school, your class, your place, your child! Our Preschool won a very nice advertising package from the Downtown Penticton page and sponsors of the contest.
Smile Enhancement Studio Visit - March 14/15
This week we studied Dental Hygiene and taking proper care of our teeth. We had a very special guest join each class for circle time to teach us how to brush our teeth and what is good and bad for our teeth. Thank you Jeannie from The Smile Enhancement Studio for showing us some of the tools that dentists use and answering so many of our questions! The kids really enjoyed Jeannie and all the information she gave us about proper dental care! Jeannie brought pink tablets for us to chew and spit out and we all got to see the plaque on our teeth and then she taught us how to brush it all off! We liked to look at our pink teeth and our friends pink teeth! Thank you Jeannie for coming and teaching us that dentists are not scary!!!
Safeway Field Trip - March 7/8, 2012
Thank you to Safeway for having us to your store! We got to see all the different parts of Safeway, some places we have been and some places that were new to us! We got to smell the flowers and guess the fruits and vegetables that Kari showed us. Kari took us in the back of Safeway to show us where they prep their vegetables, bale the cardboard boxes and we even got to walk inside a delivery truck! We got to see inside the big walk in freezers where they keep the ice cream and we were all allowed to go in the big milk fridge and look through to the grocery store! The bakery showed us how they make buns and donuts in their massive mixer and Dean demonstrated an icing Rose that he makes for the birthday cakes. We got to learn what the pharmacy is for and then we made our way to the deli and they let us try a slice of ham and sent us back to school with mojo's, oranges and cookies for snack. Out last stop was Starbucks for a kid's size sample of caramel apple spice (cinnamon apple juice)
We got to meet many people and experience a lot on this field trip and we learned so much from it!
