Art Knapp's Field Trip -
This week we went on a field trip to Art Knapp's that started with one of the most exciting parts, The fish!! We learned that there are fish (Koi) at Art Knapp's that are over 30 years old. Sherry fed the fish and they even nibbled her fingers. Our preschoolers reminded her to wash her hands after touching fish and fish food.

Into Art Knapp's we went and we were met by the scent of wonderful flowers. Sherry showed us where people make bouquets, (maybe where they might make a bouquet for someone special on Mothers Day!). We made our way to the tropical plants with prickly cacti and even Venus fly traps. Sherry demonstrated how a fly would go into the 'mouth' of the trap and then it would get snapped up. We smelled flowers, some that smelled 'good' and some that smelled 'Yuck!”. We saw where trees get "hair cuts" to make them into different shapes. Some of the favourite parts were also the fountains and bird baths. Each class took home a special vegetable plant to add to our preschool garden and also something to grow at home. Thank you to Art Knapp's and to our wonderful tour guide Sherry for all her garden enthusiasm.
